🐾🌻 Support Our Small Community Farm 🐓🐐
At Barber Family Farm, we strive to be a self-sufficient, local farm that serves both our community and the animals who need us most. We provide a loving environment for animals 🐕🐇 who didn’t have the best start in life—helping them find forever homes or training them to bring joy and companionship to people with special needs. 💙
While we work hard to sustain ourselves through events and farm visits, caring for our animals and keeping the farm running is a constant challenge. Sometimes, we need a little extra help with upkeep, feed costs, emergencies, and advanced medical care. 🐄💉
Here’s how you can make a difference:
- 💰 Financial donations (100% goes directly to the animals—none is used for administrative costs)
- 🌾 Feed donations like hay, grains, dog & cat food, and fresh fruits & veggies 🍎🥕
- 🤝 Volunteer your time—whether helping with daily chores, grooming, or special projects ✨
- 📣 Spread the word about our farm by sharing with family and friends 🐴
We welcome you to stop by anytime to see how we’re doing, spend time with our furry friends 🐐🐥, and become part of something truly special—proudly local and homegrown. 🌞🌿
To give you an idea of the costs we face every month (September 2020):
- Farm lease: $2,000 🏡
- Hay: $1,100 🌾
- Dry feed: $810 🐎
- Electricity (running 24/7 for wells, lights, heat lamps): $550 💡
- Garbage: $239 🚮
- Farrier/Veterinarian: $720 🩺
- Purchase of 5 rescued animals: $430 🐾
Please note, we receive no government funding and are fully self-supported. We raise money through events and community visits, but the costs far exceed the income. I personally contribute from my Veterans pay each month to keep this mission alive. 🇺🇸💪
If you’d like to help us move toward sustainable energy and reduce these costs, please check out our Solar Project. ☀️🔋
